For the Beauty of the Earth

We left Bar Harbor late yesterday.  We have loved the beauty of the area.  Here are a few pictures to share.
This was the view off the balcony of our room.

We stayed at the Bluenose Inn.  It overlooks Bar Harbor.  It was a fabulous Inn

I took lots of pictures of our adventures in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.  This area is just good for the soul.  We went to the top of Mt Cadillac, sat on the rockbound beaches and just soaked in the beauty, loved the beauty of the fall colors accented by the beautful pine trees and spruces.  We have enjoyed every minute of our 2 day stay here.  All of the water in my pictures is the Atlantic Ocean with so many pine covered islands.

Our beautiful room at the Bluenose -- funny name huh!

My picture was kind of dark , but Bar Harbor is on the right of the picture.  Two Carnival Cruise ships were in the harbor the day checked into the Inn.
                                      Another view of Bar Harbor
Rich on the balcony of the room
The Looking Glass Restaurant where we had breakfast.  This was part of the Inn

Walk way around the outside of the restaurant.
Here I am well fed at Bar Harbor -- See the sand bar in the harbor -- It wasn't in the above pictures at 8:00.  The tide was going out.
Almost at the top of Mt Cadillac -- I couldn't believe how far I could see.

Thunderhole -- the water spraying back out of the hole in the rock.  It did sound like thunder.  The tide comes in the narrow channel then roars back out.

The other side of Thunder hole.
We sat on this beach for quite a while just enjoying the water and the beauty of these rockbound beaches.

We drove all the way up the coast of Maine today until we could see Canada -- We were in part of Canada - Brunswick I think.   We couldn't take our rental car in so we headed to Bangor for the night.  We have seen so many beautiful little towns.  This part of Maine coast is all fishing boats -- lobster cages everywhere.  In other words, no sailboats.  It's all work up here.  What a delight for us to see this completely different part of our country.  We love Maine.

One of our all-time favorite trips was to Bar Harbor. I wrote a poem about a little boy I watched at Thunderhole (we were still childless then). This might just be the trip of your lifetime! I love catching a glimpse of it all! Keep enjoying!
